OBITUARY Kirby Dale Williams, 68, of Gaddy Circle, Thomasville passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023, at his residence. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am on Thursday, January 26, at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Mr. Larry Watts officiating. Interment will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. Kirby was born May 11, 1954, in Lawrence County, Kentucky to Cartmell Williams and Hattie Hensley Williams. He was a veteran of the United States Army and of the Baptist faith. He had been employed in the furniture industry and with CNO Railroad. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, George Williams and a sister, Sandy Daniels. He is survived by his wife, Julia Gibson Williams of the home, son, Jesse Martin (Cristen) of Denton, daughters, Melissa Martin of Lexington, Rebecca Jackson of Ashland, KY, and Starlena Napier (J.C.) of WV; sisters, Bonnie Williams and Carolyn Salyers (Bondie) all of KY, and Judy Jarrel (Paul) of OH; 13 grandchildren, Morgan, Madison, Kaylee, Jake, Caleb, Kelsie, Makenzie, Jesse, Jr., Hunter, Anthony, JR., Tyrese, Maurice, and Natalia. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton.

Obituary Norman Neil Parsons, 64, formerly of McCallum Rd., Candor, died Friday, January 20, 2023 at FirstHealth Hospice and Palliative Care in Pinehurst. Funeral Services will be held at a later date. Born in Stanly County on December 31, 1958, he was the son of Theodore R. and Virginia Andrews Parsons. He had attended Parsons Grove UMC and worked in the Heating and Air Conditioning Industry. Norman is survived by 2 brothers, Bennie Parsons of Dunn and Willard Parsons of Biscoe; 1/2 sister, Dale Surles of Linden, NC and step-sister, Betty Wilson of Candor. Briggs-Candor Funeral Home is assisting the Parsons family with arrangements. Obituary Dwight Lanier Miller ,79, of Forest Hill Dr., Denton passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at the home of his daughter. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, January 21 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Claudie Harrison officiating. Interment will follow at Tom’s Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Dwight was born October 2, 1943, in Guilford County to Carson M. Miller and Alta Veigh Lanier Miller. He served in the United States Army Reserves and was of the Baptist faith. Dwight was a production planner with Acme-McCrary Corporation. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Dean Miller. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Peggy Marshall Miller of the home; daughter, Christy Miller and Missy Miller Ellison (Greg) all of Denton; brothers, Wayne Miller, James “Jimmy” Miller, and Carson “Mack” Miller; sisters, Lisa Miller Martin and Ronda Miller Carroll; 2 grandchildren, Brittany Miller (Zachary Hatmaker) and Carson Ellison. 1 great-granddaughter, Mia Veigh. Mr. Miller will lie in state on Saturday from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton. At other times the family will be at the home of Brittany Miller on Carroll Ave., in Denton. Memorials can be made to Hospice of Davidson County, Tom’s Creek Cemetery Fund, or to the Humane Society. OBITUARY Warren Lynden Cochran, 86, formerly of Shoreline Dr., Lexington, NC passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at Thomasville Medical Center. Warren was born January 7, 1937, in Wetzel County, West Virginia to Evertt Cochran and Dora Brookover Cochran. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and was of the Methodist faith. During his job as a project manager Warren had worked for Tel-Media, Time Warner, and Armstrong Utilities. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Charlene Wagoner Cochran; a grandson, Adam Croskey.. He is survived by daughters, Pam Smithbower of Lexington, and Jana Dove of PA; sons, Warren Lee “Bucky” Cochran of Lexington, and Lynden Evertt Cochran of Winterville, GA; 3 sisters, Bernidine Culp, Grace Grimm, and Thelma Lou Hyatt; 8 grandchildren, Jessica Valo, Clayton Valo, Tana Dove, Nicole Dove, Randy Dove, Kala Croskey, Jordon Cochran, and Cory Cochran; and by 17 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 20, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton.
