Tiffany Marie Gosselin January 11, 1971 - October 16, 2023
“You show that you are a letter from Christ..Written…with the Spirit of God.” [2 Corinthians 3:3]

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you. Before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations” [Jeremiah 1:5]…and set apart she was.

Before her form was created, before her earthly body became a temporary home, her energy, spirit, soul, essence, was already known and we had already met. Sister soul how bright you shone yet you could not see your wonder!

Tiff’s style was understated but she was so beautiful that she didn’t need adornments or accessories...she was perfect and the family wished she could have seen herself the way we did. You smiled and laughed with your eyes and most of the time my jokes or clowning got an eye roll…you were an expert eye roller.

Melancholy and loyal, aloof and introverted, a mirror for truth; your big dream was comfort, peace and love. Boys were always asking about my Tiff. They always wanted to know what was beneath the exterior and did she have a boyfriend? Little did they know this wild thing had been kicked off an island, competed fiercely in Scrabble, backgammon and poker? While shooting pool you were given the name “Crooked Eye” and golf was your favorite sport. You loved to play golf and excelled at it with your natural athleticism. You had been known to play 36 holes in a day and it was something you and dad enjoyed doing together. In the 80’s the sport was racquetball and we spent hours playing with our hooligan friends…we even had Mad dog 20/20 grape flavor in our racquetball bags…you won trophies without trying.
No one in the last decade knows this but Tiff loved a good looking black car. She had a black Pontiac Fiero that we destroyed slamming the brakes and fish tailing into mounds of snow, a Black 1968 Black Firebird that had way too much power and a Black RX7 with a moon roof. We cruised High Point Road believing we were so cool blasting Guns and Roses. You belted out AC /DC's “TNT” and I watched in amazement how you felt it! “TNT. I’m Dynamite. TNT, and I’ll win the fight. TNT, I’m a power load. TNT, watch me exploooode!”

Tiff was a ‘Daddy's’ girl and truly his gray hair or what's left of it came from worry and concern for Tiff…he would gladly lose all his hairs. Tiffany’s spiritual buddy was her mother and they could talk to each other for hours about scripture, faith, hope and making sense of the world. Gifts from Tiffany were well thought out, sentimental and she always knew what you needed. She loved to cook and put her own spin on classics like green bean casserole and jalapeno cornbread (sometimes with a little too much cayenne and red pepper).Customers at the café and anywhere she worked as a server were so important to her because taking care of them made her feel better in the world. Her extended family is scattered from Florida to Maine, Oregon, Washington, Michigan, South Carolina, Texas and of course, here in our beloved Lexington NC.

Tiffany was a wrestling champion having fought the devil often, a captain at sea navigating gigantic waves through torrential downpours and a dove playing on the winds of hurricanes and tornadoes. She had an amazing hope for better days…the Bible, her road map, praying were her letters to God. Her faith in Christ throughout her life has pulled her through many hard times and her faith never wavered and nor did she ever lose hope. You have earned the right to rest in peace my sweet sis. Cancer may have taken your body but now your spirit is free. I can’t wait to see you again…
