Carole Faulkner Varnadore November 12, 1938 - December 01, 2022
Carole Faulkner Varnadore, 84, of Lexington, passed away December 1, 2022, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center Lexington.



A celebration of her life will be held later in January 2023 at Bethany United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Michele Brown Hill officiating. The family will see friends following the service.



Carole was born November 12, 1938, in Davidson County, to Woodrow Faulkner and Mildred Parks Miller. She was a devoted member of the church, sang in the church choir, and had played the church organ for many years. Carole enjoyed traveling, loved to garden, had worked in the student center at Davidson County Community College for several years, helped neighbors and community, and volunteered with the homeless shelter cooking and making blankets. Her passion was her faith, church, and family, especially her grandsons. Carole was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be missed by all. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, David J. Varnadore, brother, Allen Faulkner, and stepbrother, Fowle Nichols.

Gene Franklin Gobble July 19, 1942 - December 01, 2022
Gene Gobble age 80, of Lexington went to be with his LORD and Savior on Thursday, December 1, 2022.



A funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Monday, December 5, 2022, at Reedy Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Ben Farrell officiating. A burial will follow in the church cemetery.



The family will receive family and friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm Monday, prior to the service at Reedy Creek Baptist Church.



Gene was born in Rowan County, July 19, 1942, to Baxter Franklin Gobble and Lorraine Johnson Gobble. He was retired from R J Reynolds and was a member of Reedy Creek Baptist Church. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, wife Reba Carol Thomason Gobble, son Gene Franklin Gobble Jr., brothers Kenneth Gobble, Jim Gobble, Mike Smith, sisters Joann Smith and Peggy Tittle.

Lillie Mae Frizzell Nicholson, 91, of Garland Drive in Lexington, passed away Wednesday November 30, 2022 at her home.



A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday December 6, 2022 at the Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel with Rev. McGee officiating services. Interment to follow at Forest Hill Mausoleum.



The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home.

Roy E. McDowell April 10, 1941 - November 30, 2022
Roy Eugene McDowell, 81, of Denton Rd., Denton, NC passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2022, at High Point Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, Dec. 4 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Claudie Harrison. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.

Mr. McDowell was born April 10, 1941, in Davidson County to Harvey Ray McDowell, Sr. and Mary Buie McDowell. He worked in the textile industry for Burlington Industries and retired from Canon Mills and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shelby Loflin McDowell; sons, Randy, and Bobby McDowell; brothers, Harvey Ray McDowell, Jr, and Jimmy McDowell’ sisters, Hazel Hepler, Oudia Coble, Mary Linzey Russell, and Virgie Whisant.

LaVerne Kepley March 31, 1932 - November 29, 2022
LaVerne Beck Kepley, 90, of Allred Road, died Tuesday, November 29, at Alston Brook Nursing Center.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Sunday, December 4, at Hedrick’s Grove United Church of Christ by the Rev. David Crook and the Rev. Paul Perkins. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends following the service.

Ms. Kepley was born March 31, 1932, in Davidson County to Ivey Thomas Beck and Lula Mae Hedrick Beck. She graduated valedictorian from Davis Townsend High School and later attended Lexington College of Business. Ms. Kepley held administrative positions at United Furniture, Burlington Industries, and retired from Parkdale Mills. She was a lifetime member of Hedrick’s Grove United Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Billy Thomas Beck; her sister, Emma Jean Beck Walton; and two nephews, William G. Walton, Jr. and Christopher Thomas Beck.

Frank Conrad Paquin Jr. May 05, 1943 - November 30, 2022
Frank Conrad Paquin Jr., 79, of Linwood, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at his home.



A graveside service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday at Smith Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Terry Smith officiating.



The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM prior to the graveside service at Smith Grove Baptist Church.



Mr. Paquin was born May 5, 1943, in Davidson County, to Frank Conrad Paquin Sr. and Ruth Conrad Paquin. He was a member of Smith Grove Baptist Church and was an avid hunter and fisherman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Johnny Robert Paquin, Glenn Mark Paquin, and Henry Cline Paquin.
