Mary Winchester, 95, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 19, 2025.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Forest Hill Memorial Park, with Rev. Jimmy Greene officiating.
No formal visitation will be held.
Mary was born on October 22, 1930, in Swain County, North Carolina, to Lawrence Columbus Winchester and Sarah DeHart Winchester. She was a faithful member of Higher Ground Baptist Church and was known as a loving and caring woman who deeply cherished her family. Her kindness, quiet strength, and devotion to those she loved will be fondly remembered.

Margaret Allowayne Martin, 74, of Davidson County, passed away Friday, December 19, 2025, at Brookstone Terrace, in Thomasville.
There are no formal services at this time.
Allowayne was born on April 16, 1951, in Davidson County, to the late Eugene Burdette Schaver and Margaret Menius Schaver. She worked for M & L Motors as an accountant and in the medical field until her retirement.
She is preceded in death by her parents.

Florence Nifong Aquilano, 92, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of December 17, 2025, at Davie Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Mocksville, N.C.
Florence was born on June 25, 1933, in Forsyth County to Laurie Hill and Sadie Southern. She was a graduate of Mineral Springs High School where she was an avid basketball player. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Webb E. Nifong Sr. and Paul M Aquilano, Sr. She is survived by her three children, Webb Nifong, Jr, of Kansas, Theresa N. Essick of Raleigh and Todd M. Nifong of Winston-Salem. Florence is also survived by seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren

Clara Jo Adams Hege, age 100, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 18, 2025.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel, Winston-Salem, NC. A private burial will follow immediately after the service.
The family will receive friends Saturday, December 27, 2025, from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Davidson Funeral home on Hickory Tree Road, Winston-Salem. NC.

Kaitlin "Katie" Shelby Crook, age 25, of Denton, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. She was born on January 28, 2000, in Davidson County to her loving parents, Terry Fagg and Melissa Crook. Katie's spirit and dedication were evident in her pursuit of a career in law enforcement, a calling she embraced wholeheartedly.
Upon completing her Basic Law Enforcement Training, Katie made her dream a reality by becoming an officer with the Lexington Police Department. Throughout her training, she faced challenges that would intimidate many; however, her determination saw her through even the most difficult of times. Despite concerns expressed by some family members about her ability to complete the training, Katie proved them wrong, showing that her ambition and perseverance could conquer her fears. She was not only a fighter but also a lifelong learner, eagerly looking forward to classes she had signed up for in January, embodying her commitment to her profession.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, December 21st at 2:00 p.m. at Macedonia Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Mr. Hicks was born on September 26, 1953 in Montgomery County to Betty Lou Williams Hicks and Claude Winfred Hicks.

Johnny Wayne Leonard, 78, of Davidson County, passed away Friday morning, December 19, 2025, at the VA Medical Center in Salisbury.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, December 26, 2025, at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Johnny was born on September 18, 1947, in Davidson County, to the late Elden Son Wayne Leonard and Mildred Bernice Walser Leonard. Upon finishing high school, he joined the Army and proudly served his country, choosing to make the sacrifice to preserve peace and freedom. After his time in the service, he worked until his retirement as a truck driver.
He worked hard throughout his life, whether it was in the Army, truck driving, or farming. His traditional values of diligence and perseverance were an example for those around him to follow and instilling these principles within his children and grandchildren was something in which he took great pride.
