Kimberly “Kim” ArLou Thompson, 58, of Lexington, went to be with her Lord and Savior May 29, 2022, at her home in Lexington.



A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 am Saturday June 4, 2022, at Christ United Church of Christ, where she was a member, with the Rev. Darren Everhart officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church.



Kim was born September 15, 1963, in Davidson County, to Billy Harold Thompson and Norma Jean Plummer Thomason. Kim was a devoted member of the church and the church choir for many years. She was a graduate from Lexington Senior High School class of 1981, was retired from the American Children’s Home and the Lexington City Schools System. Her passion was her faith, church, family and especially all the children she took care in her life. Kim was a loving daughter, sister, and aunt, who will be missed by all. In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her brother, Danny Thompson who died August 4, 2019, her sister-in-law, Lucinda Biesecker Thompson who died April 30, 2021, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Plummer and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Thompson.
Left to cherish her memories are her father, Billy Harold Thompson of the home, her sister and best friend whom she thought the world of Kelley Thompson Goldsmith and husband David of Illinois, and a special niece, Amanda Davis, and husband Will of Lexington.



In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ UCC Church, 404 Anne Street, Lexington, NC 27295.
