George Washington’s 1789 Thanksgiving Proclamation
writes, "Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor; and Whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me to "recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness:"

Now, therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday, the 26th day of November next, to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be; that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country previous to their becoming a nation; for the signal and manifold mercies and the favorable interpositions of His providence in the course and conclusion of the late war; for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty which we have since enjoyed; for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enable to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and, in general, for all the great and various favors which He has been pleased to confer upon us.

And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech Him to pardon our national and other transgressions; to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually; to render our National Government a blessing to all the people by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed; to protect and guide all sovereigns and nations (especially such as have shown kindness to us), and to bless them with good governments, peace, and concord; to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us; and, generally to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as He alone knows to be best.

How to create a better educational system and family.
writes, "1./ Give our school system more authority. My generation grew up through the years of corporal punishment. I got the paddle several times and it was emabarrassing and uncooled my cool. Oh well, cool actually means, not so hot anyway! Make parents more accountable. And I am still here!
2./ Zero tolerence for alcohol and drugs and sex parties in all colleges. Get caught, get out. Oh yea, we must have forgot that it is for higher learning and in some ways puts the parents deeper in debt for kids that think they have an entitlement from them.
"

REMEMBER?
writes, "Never had a back pack going to high school, food was always home cooked by some great ladies in our community. Had 8 periods per day and girl had separate phys ed. Got paddled twice in HS and girls had to wear their skirts at least one inch below their knees. You could understand every word in the music and there were no strippers performing them. Never was about sex or calling girls names or degrading them. Some of us walked to school until we got our license and best buds always had your back. I don't even remember whiners back then as there was a certain thankfulness for what we all had. Prayer was given over the intercom every morning by the principal and we said the pledge of Allegiance together. We all stood for the National Anthem (unlike the sissy boys today) and felt a certain pride for our country. Many of us were already overseas by the time we were 18 and served with a sense of Patriotism. WE ARE YOUR MOM's AND DAD's AND YOUR GRANDPARENTS!!

SO MUCH GOING ON THIS TME OF YEAR
writes, "I love November and December ,one month is to be thankful for all the bounty we have to share with family and friends. And of course December is when we celebrate the Birth of our Savior Jesus Christ."

BLAME GAME
writes, "We live our lives making thousands of excuses for so many things, but God has heard everyone ever thought of, on Sunday morning. Sometimes stuff happens in our lives and we play the blame game, when it might be the Master saying, I want to talk to you and you to me. I Love You and I showed that Love through the sacrifice of my Son. Can you spare an hour or two?
"

NEVER FORGET!
writes, "Don't let facebook replace a relationship with family and friends. Facebook can't see the pain on your face, or the real smile, it can't count the teardrops running down your cheeks. It won't comfort you or give you that human hug that only you can feel. I wouldn't be surprised if it hasn't destroyed some relationships while at the same time found some long lost friends. It's not the real world, only another form of entertainment, so don't let it give you a false sense of popularity because of the amount of friends that you might show in count. Remember, there is someone within your center of influence that needs to know they are loved. Call someone today or tomorrow and tell them you Love them. They may be needing to hear that more than you realize.
"

GOOD MORNING:
writes, "I believe a friendship is one of the most important assets we have in life. Regardless of which political party or camp you are in, we will still be Americans the day after the next election. If you call yourself a Christian, you will always be my Brother or Sister in Christ, regardless of where you attend Church or what your race, creed or color is. My Bible says the greatest gift is LOVE and God showed it by sending his Son to pay for our sins. We are expected to let our lives show that gift everyday in our life. You might think you are going through some lonely times, hard times, etc. however you are not alone. He is always with us and his answers are always perfect and for our best. We may not like the timing or the results, but he is always right 100% all of the time. Attend a local Church and meet new folks and share your Love and experiences as others need it too. My rant for today! God Bless!
