Patricia "Patti" Ann Ashburn Gooch, a cherished wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away on August 18, 2023, at the age of 63. Her legacy of love, compassion, and joyful spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of those who were privileged to know her.
A funeral service will be held to honor Patti's remarkable life at 4 pm on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at the Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. In keeping with Patti's vibrant personality, the family kindly requests attendees to dress casually. The family will receive friends from 3 pm to 4 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
Born in Norfolk, Virginia, on August 19, 1959, Patti was a ray of sunshine in her family from the moment she arrived. Her parents, Cosby Edward Ashburn and Gloria Bradby Ashburn, nurtured her with love, guiding her toward a life marked by warmth and generosity. Patti's journey was defined by her unwavering strength and boundless love for her family. She navigated life's challenges with grace and resilience, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her. Tragically, she was preceded in death by her son, Sean Maxwell, whose memory she held close in her heart, and her father, Cosby Edward Ashburn.
Left to cherish the precious moments shared with Patti are her loving husband, Gary Lee Gooch, whose companionship provided unwavering comfort and support throughout their journey together. Patti's daughter, Carrie Wilcox, and her husband, Mark, continue to embody her spirit of compassion and kindness, passing on the legacy she held dear.
Patti's mother, Gloria Bradby Ashburn, stands as a beacon of strength and inspiration to all who knew her. Patti's siblings—brothers David Ashburn, Rick Ashburn, and Wayne Ashburn, along with sisters Cindy Franker and Beverly Nance—share a bond of love and shared experiences that Patti held dear.
