Kathy Elizabeth Griffin December 07, 1950 - October 30, 2021
Kathy Elizabeth Gupton Griffin, who also answered to Momma, Mamaw and Kathy dear as the devoted family matriarch departed her beloved family and friends on October 30th, 2021, to be with the Heavenly Father.

Mrs. Griffin was born in Rocky Mount, NC on December 7th, 1950, to Virginia Elizabeth Baker Gupton and Linwood Harris Gupton.
She was mother to Jason S Griffin and Amber G Daniels. Kathy raised her children with unmatched love and protection of them alongside her loving husband and best friend of almost 52 years, Scott Griffin, in Arcadia, NC.

Kathy spent most of her professional career at Chase Financial Bank in the financial loan business where she made several lifelong friends. They have lovingly prayed for her and kept her company over the last 3 years and have become extended family. Kathy’s hobbies included reading countless novels if she ever sat down, decorating her home for every season, and shopping for the perfect gift, especially for her children and grandchildren. Kathy was a phenomenal cook. A meal prepared by her was prepared with love. She orchestrated elaborate pool side grill outs in the evening of summer nights and remembered everyone’s favorite dish at the holidays. Kathy made sure that her brother, niece, and nephews got their favorite Sis and Aunt Kathy’s dish. Kathy enjoyed traveling to the NC mountains for the leaves of fall and stays by the ocean with her dear sisters and brothers in law at yearly family vacations.

She is survived by her husband Scott Griffin of the home; one son, Jason Griffin of Lexington; one daughter, Amber Daniels of Charlotte; one brother, Harris Gupton (Samie) of Tobaccoville; and four grandchildren, Zach Smiley, Caleb Griffin, Ethan Daniels, and Andrew Daniels.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2pm Wednesday November 3rd, 2021, at Pinedale Christian Church in Winston Salem. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 to 2pm prior to the service.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Megan Meredith and to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice for their compassion and loving care.

Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions can be sent to the American Cancer Society or Mountain Valley Hospice.
