Vergie Elizabeth Everhart April 12, 1940 - September 10, 2023
Vergie Elizabeth Byerly Everhart, 83, of Lexington, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2023, at her home.



A funeral service will be held 2 PM Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with Pastor Vernon Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.



The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.



Mrs. Everhart was born April 12, 1940, in Davidson County, to Jacob Howard Byerly and Ruby Mae Shoe Byerly. She was a member of First Wesleyan Church of Lexington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Byerly; and two sisters, Doris Everhart, and Helen Ann Byerly.



Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 65 years, Phillip Henry Everhart of the home; two sons, Randy Everhart (Jennifer) of Lexington, and Eugene Everhart (Kim) of Lexington; six grandchildren, Kaley Cucci (Vinny), Hannah Rush (Kenyon), Josh Everhart, Jake Everhart, Bryant Everhart, and Madison Everhart; and six great-grandchildren, Vincent Cucci, Everly Cucci, Matilda Cucci, Grayson Rush, Allie Rush, and Ensley Rush. Also surviving is a special brother in-law, Blake Everhart; and sister in-law, Rachel Cooper

Ricky
Ricky “Rick” Dean Taylor, 64, of Lexington, passed away September 10, 2023, at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.



A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, September 15, 2023. The Family will receive friends Thursday night from 5-8 pm at Davidson Funeral Home.



Ricky was born December 28, 1958, in Davidson County, to James Fletcher and Lucy Altweeta Taylor. Rick loved to fish, hunt and a big fan of NASCAR, having worked at Fletcher Machine for 23 years, and at Carolina Container. His passion was his family and especially his grandchildren, Rick was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, who will be missed by all. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Kay Parks, brothers, Jimmy, Paul, Clint, and Curt Fletcher. And was of the Methodist faith.



Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 42 years, Kimberly “Kim” Gray Taylor of the home, sons, Matt Taylor and Brian Taylor and wife Montanna all of Lexington, grandchildren, Kameran and Riley Taylor, brother, Tony Taylor and wife Mary of Mountain City, NC, half-brothers, Ray and Gary Fletcher both of Lexington, also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Craig Randall Snyder March 13, 1963 - September 09, 2023
Craig Snyder age 60, lifelong resident of Midway, NC went home to be with his LORD, Saturday, September 9, 2023, at his home.



A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm, Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at Faith Church with Pastors David Hedrick and Michael Gates officiating. A burial will follow in the church cemetery.



The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday night at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Road, Winston-Salem, NC.



Craig was born March 13, 1963, in Forsyth County to Jerry Wade Snyder and Sylvia Smith Snyder.

He was a member of Promise Baptist Church and previously attended Faith Church and retired from Davidson County Landfield. Craig was preceded in death by his parents.



Surviving are his wife; JoAnn Nifong Snyder of the home, brother, Dale Snyder (Sherry), nieces; Danielle Whittington, Emily Snyder, nephew, Travis Stack (Jessica), great nieces Hallie Whittington and Emma Stack.



The family would like to say a very special thank you to the extended members of the Nifong and Hill families. Craig had a special love for all his fur babies.

Jean Biesecker Brown December 19, 1933 - September 08, 2023
Jean Biesecker Brown, 89, formerly of Lexington, NC, passed away September 8, 2023, at Piedmont Crossing in Thomasville. Jean was born in Lexington on December 19, 1933 to Charlie Guy and Frances Carrick Biesecker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles “Bobby” Biesecker of Midway, and brothers-in-law Roy Gandy and Larry Tesh, both of Lexington.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, September 17, 2023, at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Frankie Matthews officiating. The family will see friends one hour prior to the service, and a private entombment will follow Monday at Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Surviving is her faithful husband of 71 years, J. Lewis Brown of Piedmont Crossing in Thomasville. She is also survived by her four children: Lisa Samuel (Joe) of Linville and Larry Brown (Kim), Janet Monk (Rick), and Lynda Currier (Joey), all of Lexington. She leaves behind grandchildren Jordan Samuel (Brittany), Leigh Blaylock (Wes), David Monk, Taylor and Lauren Currier and Kevin Brown (Jessica), Amy Deremer (Chris), Nathan Monk (Allison), and Josh Monk. Her surviving in-laws include sisters-in-law Dorcas Biesecker of Midway, Laura Nifong of King, Dana Gandy and Jeannie Tesh of Lexington; brothers-in-law R.L. Gandy (Kaye) and Harold Gandy (Treva) of Lexington. Jean was also survived by numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

After graduating from Lexington Senior High School in 1952, Jean worked for Davis Chevrolet. She later joined Arnold Weaver’s CPA firm and remained there after the firm was sold to Harold Myers. She then joined the Pit Stop Convenience Store Chain owned by Dewey Link, continuing her accounting career, qualifying as an Enrolled Agent able to represent her clients before the IRS. She was a dedicated employee and earned the respect and admiration of her co-workers.

Merle Leonard Hodges, 80, of Twin Acres Dr., Lexington, Died Saturday September 9, 2023, at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.

Doris Shaw Brown November 04, 1950 - September 08, 2023
Doris Shaw Brown age 72 of Lexington passed away Friday, September 8, 2023 at Forsyth Medical Center with her family by her side.



A funeral service to honor her life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, September 16, 2023 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. A.C. Brock officiating. Burial will follow at Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington from 5:00 until 8:00 PM Friday.

Danny Clark Byrd August 29, 1946 - September 02, 2023
Danny Clark Byrd, 77, of Lexington, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2023, at his home.



Mr. Byrd was born August 29, 1946, in Forsyth County, to Stacy Vestal Byrd and Dora Irma Adams Byrd. Danny enjoyed spending days on the lake with family and friends and finishing those days grilling and cooking for everyone. He also loved riding his motorcycle. He lost the love of his life, Linda Davis, six months ago and has awaited the day they would be reunited.



The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Davidson County.
