Jimmy Eugene Boles January 01, 1945 - May 08, 2022
Jimmy Eugene Boles, 77, of Privette Rd., Candor, died Sunday, May 8, 2022 at FirstHealth Hospice and Palliative Care in Pinehurst. Private Memorial Services will be held at a later date.



Born in Knox County, TN, on January 1, 1945, he was the son of Roy Allen and Ruby Mae Curry Boles. He was a railroad conductor with the Norfolk Southern Railroad. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Lee Boles in 2005 and two brothers, Roger and Roy Boles.

Ina Mae Varnadore Parsons February 01, 1936 - February 02, 2022
Ina Mae Varnadore Parsons, 86, died Wednesday, February 2, 2022 in California. Memorial Services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Parsons Grove United Methodist Church.

Ina Mae was born February 1, 1936 in Chester, SC. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Parsons, sisters, Mary and Shirley, and her brother Charles.

Ina Mae enjoyed watching the hummingbirds each morning, loved drinking coffee all day, watching quiz shows, crossword puzzles, mysteries, reading, and listening to audio books. She was a good bowler. As a young woman, Ina Mae was good at track and field. She received her GED with Juanita was at the top of the class. Ina Mae belonged to the ladies club in Johnsonville before she went to German. We all loved her laugh, her sense of humor and love for her family were her most important traits. She was very grateful for the good relationship she had with her brothers and sisters-in-law.

Caroline Olivia Beasley August 03, 1998 - May 08, 2022
The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the service.



Ms. Beasley was born August 3, 1998, in Davidson County, to Robbie Dale Beasley and Cynthia Gail Blevins. She attended Pilgrim Freewill Baptist Church in Lexington and loved singing, dancing, and fishing. Caroline always had a smile on her face and with her bubbly personality, never met a stranger. She had a heart for people and was always willing to help. To know her was to love her. Along with getting married, she was ecstatic to be a mom to Rylan Olivia Hardy, and May 8th, her wedding day, will always be remembered as her day.

Cora Maxine Berrier March 09, 1929 - April 24, 2022
Cora “Maxine” Hinkle Berrier, 93, of Welcome, North Carolina was called home to our Savior on Sunday, April 24th 2022, at her home surrounded by the love of her family. Maxine was born March 9th, 1929 to the late John and Della Hinkle of Welcome, NC. Maxine was preceded in death by her siblings, Catherine Hinkle and three brothers, Eugene (twin brother), Charles and Preston Hinkle. Recently, Maxine was also preceded by her son, Robert “Craig” Berrier, of Lexington, NC whom she cherished. While our hearts are sad that we will no longer have her fellowship here on Earth, we rest in knowing that Maxine lived a very full life that she was proud of sharing with others.

Maxine is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Robert “Bob” Berrier, of seventy-three years, daughter-in-law, Jeannie Berrier, three grandchildren Robert “Brent” Berrier (Misty), Michael Varner (Beth), Michelle Evans (Todd), and seven great grandchildren, Montanna Berrier, Chezney Norman, Brielyn Berrier, Chad Evans (Savannah), Ashley Anderson (Ben), Landon Varner, and Hadley Varner. In addition, Maxine had two great-great grandchildren, Bennett and Brittly Anderson. Maxine was better known to the above as “Mamaw”.

Maxine was the first class to go twelve years of grade school and graduated from Welcome High School. Maxine was a strong-willed, determined woman, and hard worker at Erlanger Mill. At this job she met her soulmate, Bob. They dated one year and were married at her mother’s home on October 15th, 1949 by Henry L. Reese. Their love was one-of-a-kind and continued to grow stronger each year. One year later, the couple welcomed their only son, Craig, who became the light of their lives.

Jeffery Thomas November 08, 1965 - May 06, 2022
Mr. Jeffery Don Thomas, age 56, of Surratt Country Road, Denton NC, died on Friday, May 6th, 2022 as a result of injures received from an automotive accident.

A celebration of life will be held at 5:00 PM on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Ronnie Timmons.

Mr. Thomas was born November 8, 1965 in Davidson County to Don Lee Thomas and Kay Hulin Thomas. He was an equipment operator for the City of Thomasville. He was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey Wilkes Surratt; sons, Jacob Arthur Thomas of Archdale and Blake Watson Surratt of Denton; a daughter, Molly Elizabeth Surratt of Denton; and his mother, Kay Thomas of Thomasville.

Moody Dwight “Toodalac” Gallimore, 88, formerly of Sexton Rd., Denton, NC passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022, at Mountain Vista Health Park.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 10, at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Derald Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Gallimore was born on July 31, 1933, in Randolph County, NC to T. Moody Gallimore and Esther Cooper Gallimore. He was of the Methodist Faith. In his retirement “Toodalac” enjoyed spending time with his dear family.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Tussey Gallimore; son-in-law, Joe Hamilton; brothers, T. Raymond Gallimore and Carlton Gallimore; and by a sister, Imogene Hardister.

He is survived by his daughter, Vickie Gallimore Hamilton of Denton; son, Craig Gallimore of Denton; brother, Jerry Gallimore of Thomasville; sister, Nancy Harris of Denton and Ann Smith of Lexington; 1 granddaughter, Lynn Davis and husband Reggie; 2 great-grandchildren, Ryan Davis and wife Gina and Cameron Shoaf; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Cooper and Haisley Davis.

Theodore ("Ted") Elliott Motlow, Jr. died in the early morning hours on May 5, 2022 at the VA Hospital in Salisbury, NC after an extended illness. He was 90 years old.

Preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Elliott Motlow, Sr. (Aberdeen, Mississippi) and Jewel Nelson Motlow (Key West, Florida), Ted is survived by the mother of his children, Jane Gordon Shoaf Motlow (Lexington, NC); his three children, Theodore Elliott Motlow, III (Holly), Richard Mark Motlow (Connie), and Melody Motlow Williams (Alan); his nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mr. Motlow was born May 19, 1931 in Miami, Florida. He graduated from Baylor Military Academy, followed by attendance at Duke University on a football scholarship. He spent most of his business life involved in sales and merchandising throughout California, Florida, and the Carolinas. As a young adult, Ted was baptized and confirmed in the Baptist church.

Commissioned as an Army officer, Ted served as an aeronautical engineer and helicopter pilot. In the late 1950's, he was stationed in Iceland on a surveillance mission. In the early years of our war in Vietnam, Ted was sent as a military advisor, and operational pilot, where he was awarded the Bronze Star following his daring river rescue of stranded ground soldiers in Vietnam. After seven years of active service, he was honorably discharged February 1, 1963.
