Mary (Louise) Clemmer Watkins, age 87 |
February 19, 2022, at Shannon Gray Rehabilitation and Recovery Center. She was born in Lexington to Mary and Garey Clemmer.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 27, at Forest Hill Memorial Park in the mausoleum.
Louise began her Civil Service career working for the Selective Service System in Lexington and later transitioned to the VA hospital in Salisbury, NC, when the draft was abolished. Upon retirement, she enjoyed helping families by sitting with their loved ones who had aged and needed a companion.
Louise had a passion for the Lord and for music, and she and her friends Audrey Koontz and Sandra Clark visited local nursing homes, singing, and playing hymns.

Anne Elizabeth Moller Akers, 64, of Lexington passed away Monday, November 22, 2021, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.
Mrs. Akers was born August 12, 1957. Anne loved crafting, playing the guitar, and spending time with family. She also had a whimsical personality and loved unicorns. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eddy Akers; and her son, Adam Akers.

Kecia Maria Moser Kepley age 54 of Welcome passed away Saturday November 20, 2021 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. A private celebration of life will be held will be held by the family.

Miriam Mercer Stroud Conner of Lexington passed away on Tuesday, November16, 2021 at her home. |
Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 27 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Ray Howell III officiating the service. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. In honor of Miriam's wishes, masks are requested at her service.
Miriam was born in Lenoir County to Abel Croom Stroud and Cora Mercer Stroud. She retired from Davidson County government where she worked as an administrative assistant to several county managers. She was a faithful member of First Baptist church serving as a Sunday School teacher, Training Union teacher, Sunbeam teacher, and active member of the Faithful Workers Sunday School class. Miriam loved gardening and was an active member of The Garden Makers Garden Club of Lexington for many years.

Ernest August Meuser, Jr., 79, a resident of Lexington, formerly of Fairhaven Vermont, passed away Sunday, November 21, 2021 at his home. Ernest was born on October 15, 1942 in St. Charles, Louisiana to the late Ernest August and Marion Couch Meuser. He retired from Fairhaven Union High School where he taught for several years. Ernest was a strong man, who loved his family very much. He was a loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed collecting tractors and was a knife maker. He will be missed by all who knew him.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday November 23, 2021 at Beulah United Church of Christ with Preacher Clyde Akers officiating services.
