Mary “Verona” Coppley, 94, a resident of Lexington, formerly of Miami, Florida, passed away October 10, 2021 at her residence. Verona was born in Wilkes County on September 8, 1927 to the late John Luther and Rose Sneed Simmons. She owned and operated Verona’s Fabric store in Lexington for 35 years, and in Miami, Florida for 20 years prior to coming to Lexington. Verona was a very active lady who was always on the go. She enjoyed spending time at the lake and going out on the pontoon, quilting, working in her store, and just sitting at the window of her store to people watch on Main Street. Verona was a strong mom who loved her boys immensely. She will be missed by all who knew her. While she was in Miami, she was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Toby Fred Coppley; a brother, John Simmons; and a sister, Avonelle Louie.

Patsy Cranford Wagoner November 26, 1933 - October 7, 2021
Patsy Jane Cranford Wagoner, 87, died Thursday, October 7, at her residence on New Hope Road. Born November 26, 1933, she was the youngest of four children born to the late Dyel and Nancy Cranford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Aaron Cranford, Harold Cranford, and Frances Cranford. She is survived by her four children, Mike Wagoner of Denton; Dan Wagoner of Simpsonville, SC; Jane W. Johns and husband Mike of Denton; and John Wagoner and wife Ginger of Cornelius. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday October 13, at Holly Grove Lutheran Church Cemetery, by the Rev. Anna Carter, with military honors and the Davidson County Fireman Honor Guard to follow.
