Stephen Larry Wishon October 10, 1944 — November 22, 2025 Lexington
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Stephen Larry Wishon, 80, of Davidson County, passed away peacefully, Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 29, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Welcome.

A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM, at the church, with Rev. Mark Blair officiating.

Burial will conclude services in the church cemetery.

Stephen was born on December 12, 1944, in Elkin, NC, to the late Harrison Edward Wishon and Mary Ethel Carter Wishon. He proudly served his country in the Army and Navy, retiring after 20 years. Stephen then went on to work as a mechanic and retired from RJR.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by the love of his life, Gail Cecil Wishon; son, Larry “Scott” Wishon; brothers, Edward Harrison Wishon, James Paul Wishon, Arvil Lee Wishon, and Leonard Wishon; mother and father-in-law, Artis and Betty Rose Cecil; and sister-in-law, Glenda Wicker; brothers-in-law, Mickey Wicker; and Donald Cecil.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Tammy Gail Fowler (Darren) of Wallburg, Dalton Brent Fowler and Karsyn Grace Fowler his beautiful grandchildren who he was proud of and loved more than life; brother, Ralph Wishon (Linda); sister-in-law Gina Cecil; nephews, Josh Wicker (Lynn), Issac Wicker; niece, Laura Cecil; Konner Eisenman and Jayden Laws; and numerous other nieces and nephews. Special nephew Joey Johnson and friends who were like family, Talbert and Carolyn Walser.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Liberty Home Health, Annie, Brittaney, Heidi, Bramley, and Steve.

Steve was a beloved husband, father, granddaddy, son, brother and uncle, and will be missed by all.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000 Department 300, Memphis, TN 38148.
