Meta “Mae” Rowe Myers, 103, of Lexington, North Carolina, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family.

Born on January 6, 1922, in Davidson County to the late Ray Mervin Rowe and Mary Ellen Walton Rowe, Mae lived a long and full life grounded in faith, family, and hard work. She was a proud graduate of Linwood High School and Ashmore Business College. Mae retired from Thomasville Furniture after many dedicated years of service and was a devoted member of Open Door Baptist Church in Lexington, where her faith and kindness touched many lives.

Gary Worley October 7, 1954 — November 9, 2025 Lexington
Gary Lee Worley, 71, of Lexington, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC. He was born on October 7, 1954, in Bristol, Virginia, to the late James Edward Worley and Ola Ruth Greer Worley.

Gary dedicated many years of his life to his work as a skilled diesel mechanic with Penske Truck Leasing, where his strong work ethic and expertise earned him the respect of coworkers and friends alike. He was known for his quiet strength, dependable nature, and deep love for his family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Deborah Bowen Worley; his brother, Eddie Worley; sisters Sharon Derrick, Emma Jean Higgins, Brenda Sorah, and Louise Worley; and great-grandchild, Keith Worley.

Carlene Foust Clodfelter, 87, of Davidson County, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Monday, November 10, 2025, at Hinkle Hospice House.

There are no formal services at this time.

Carlene was born on November 28, 1937, in Davidson County, to the late Everett Wesley Foust and Rosa Clodfelter Foust. She was a lifelong member of Midway Church and dedicated much of her time to various ministries, above all working with the children. As the Assistant Director of Midway Church Daycare, she displayed her love by caring for the kids and guiding them throughout their day.

Nedina Nelson August 29, 1941 — November 6, 2025 Lexington
Nedina Evans Nelson, age 84, of Lexington, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2025, at her home.

Lou was born on August 29, 1941, in Scioto County, Ohio, to Clarence Evans and Wilma Riegel Evans. She married the love of her life, Roger, in 1960. Together they travelled extensively, visiting all 50 states. They loved their cruises, especially the warm, sunny ones!

A devout Christian, she was an AWANA’s game leader for 20+ years. She taught Sunday school and traveled for missionary work. For years, she was an alto in the church choir. More recently, she planned and organized the ladies’ monthly trips.

Mabel James Cawley, 97, of Lexington, passed away Monday November 10, 2025, at Davidson Health and Rehab in Lexington.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday November 16, 2025 at Victory Baptist Church where she was a member with Pastor Jeff Mabe. Burial to follow in the church cemetery

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 at the church.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree.

A graveside service will be held the following day, Friday, November 14, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at Arcadia Village Church Cemetery.

Her compassion, kindness, and gentle spirit touched the lives of many patients, colleagues, friends, and family members.
