| Mildred Chaffin Mize July 6, 1939 — December 8, 2025 |
Mildred Chaffin Mize, 86, of Davidson County, passed away Monday morning, December 8, 2025, surrounded by her family.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 Monday, December 15, 2025, at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington.
A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM, in the chapel, with Rev. David Langley officiating.
Burial will conclude services at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family is also opening their home for fellowship drop ins at 808 Pine Circle Dr. High Point, NC, 27265.
Mildred was born on July 6, 1939, in Rowan County, to the late Robert Little Chaffin and Martha Byerly Chaffin.

Gus Schraddar Thomas, 91, of Linwood, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2025, peacefully at his home, with his family by his side.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00, Saturday December 13, 2025, at Higher Ground Baptist Church.
A funeral service will follow at 11:00, at the church, with Pastor Steve Hartzog officiating.
Burial will conclude the services in the church cemetery.
Gus was born on December 24, 1933, in Union County, Fl, to the late Roland Henry Thomas and Pearl Bass Thomas.

Buddy Wayne Dorsett, 61, of Denton, NC, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Medical Center in Winston Salem. Born on September 10, 1964, in Davidson County, NC, Buddy was the beloved son of the late Robert Vernon Dorsett and Geneva Hughes Dorsett.
A proud graduate of Denton High School, Buddy furthered his education at High Point University and Davidson County Community College. He was well-respected in his professional career, working with Lexington Home Brands as a Customer Service Representative, where he made a positive impact on both his colleagues and clients.
Outside of work, Buddy had a passion for thrift shopping and cherished the memories created during vacations at White Lake, NC. His joyful spirit and commitment to family shaped his life, and he will be remembered fondly by those who knew him. He was of the Baptist faith having grown up in First Baptist Church of Denton.

| John Terry Parnell April 19, 1954 — December 8, 2025 |
John Terry Parnell ,71, passed away on Monday December 8, surrounded by his family after several years of declining health. He was born in Davidson County to John Franklin and Betty Wilson Parnell. He was raised on the family farm in Churchland and still lived on land that was a part of the farm. He was a former employee of Proctor and Schwartz and later worked for Martin Marietta. Terry was an avid Oliver Tractor fan and loved going to tractor shows to look for Oliver tractors.
He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Mocksville.
A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday December 11, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Davidson Funeral Home Lexington with Pastor Darrel Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will visit with family and friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm before the service.

Eric Shane “Monkey” Church, 47, of Davidson County, passed away on November 29, 2025. Born on January 27, 1978, in Davidson County. His parents are Ernest Matthew Church Sr. and Yvonne Byrd Wilson. Eric remained a lifelong resident of the community he loved.
Eric found joy in working outdoors and had a true passion for landscaping. He took pride in creating beautiful outdoor spaces for others to enjoy. When he wasn’t working, he could often be found fishing—another hobby that brought him peace and happiness. Above all, Eric cherished time spent with his nieces, nephews, and the many friends who were like family to him. He especially adored Kash, who held a very special place in his heart.

Ruth “Libby” Elizabeth Holder, 76, passed away Monday December 1, 2025, at Novant Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC.
There will be no formal services held at this time.
Mrs. Holder was born December 7, 1948, in Davison County to Everett Lindsey Younts and Ida Lee Thomason Younts. Libby enjoyed shopping, was very active in The Eastern Star and loved vacationing at the beach. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Brian Barber, and Derek Barber; one brother, Turner Younts; and one sister, Hilda Penninger.
Surviving is her husband, Lewis Martin Holder, of the home; one brother, Johnny Thomason; one grandchild, Brandy; two nieces, Johnnie Musgrave and Susan Bryant; one stepson, Mark Holder; one stepdaughter, Jennifer Atkinson; and Goddaughter, MacKenzie Bryant.

| Reggie Glenn Smith April 30, 1946 — November 28, 2025 Lexington |
Surrounded by his loving family, Reggie Glenn Smith died peacefully at his home in Southmont, North Carolina, on November 28, 2025, at the age of 79, after several years of courageously battling dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
Born on April 30, 1946, in Davidson County, Reggie was the only child of the late Orin Glenn Smith and Maxine Reid Smith. He was a devoted family man whose life revolved around those he loved.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 59 years, Delores Kennedy Smith. He is also survived by his children, Scott Smith (Andrea) of Greenville, SC, and Lori (Lance) Scarlett of Rutherfordton, NC; his five grandchildren, Chris Scarlett (Cassie), Samuel Scarlett (Mary), Lily Smith, Eli Scarlett (Hailey), and Clay Smith; and seven great-grandchildren: Rylan, Lincoln, Kashyn, Gwendolyn, Wren, Adeline, and Lily.
