| Rosemary Miller Campbell January 31, 1940 — November 21, 2025 Lex |
Rosemary Miller Campbell, 85, of Lexington, passed away peacefully Friday, November 21, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center, with her family by her side.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00, Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Linwood UMC.
A Memorial service will follow at 3:00 in the church, with Rev. Cindy Ramirez officiating.
Interment will conclude services in the church cemetery.
Rosemary was born on January 31, 1940, in Davidson County, to the late Arnold Lee Miller Sr. and Annie Mae Feezor Miller. She worked for many years as a teacher’s assistant and bus driver for the Davidson County School System.

| Gloria Jean Morrison November 11, 1945 — November 20, 2025 Lexington |
Gloria Jean Edwards Morrison, 80, of Davidson County, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025. Born on November 11, 1945, in Grundy, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Marian Arthur Edwards and Lydia Catherine Edwards.
Gloria is survived by her devoted husband, Jerry Mack Morrison, and her loving children: daughters Angel Hughes and Joann Houghton (Jesse); step-sons Tracy Morrison, Randy Morrison, and Wayne Morrison. She is also survived by her brothers Junior Edwards (Crickett), Estil Edwards (Gail), and Kenneth Edwards. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Courtney McElroy (Brad), Anthony Rebello (Nichole), CJ “Troy” Lankford (Madeline), and Michael Rebello; as well as her adored great-grandchildren: Emma Rebello, Everest McElroy, and Jameson Lankford.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Troy Curtis Lankford; her daughter, Cathy Lankford; and her sisters, Faye Barnes, Hazel Owens, and Elizabeth Byerly.

| Michael Maclay Cummings May 6, 1953 — November 19, 2025 Winston Salem |
Michael Maclay Cummings, of Davidson County, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025. Born on May 6, 1953, in Greene County, Ohio, he was the beloved son of the late Hanford Lindsley Cummings Jr. and Patricia Wortham Ryan.
A devoted educator, Michael dedicated much of his life to teaching and mentoring others. He served as a business finance and accounting professor at Salem College, where his passion for learning and compassion for students touched countless lives. Prior to that, he spent a decade as a professor at Barton College—formerly Atlantic Christian College—in Wilson, North Carolina. His colleagues remember him as a leader guided by integrity, patience, and genuine care for others.
Michael was a true lover of animals, and he had a special way of earning their trust and affection. He found peace and joy in the outdoors, whether walking along sandy beaches, exploring mountain trails, or setting up camp beneath a sky full of stars. More than anything, he treasured time spent with family. Those who knew him best will remember his warm heart, easy laughter, and remarkable ability to make friends wherever he went. He never met a stranger, only someone he had not yet welcomed into his circle.

Dennis Kent Leonard, 90, of Davidson County, passed away Tuesday evening, November 18, 2025, at his home.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM, Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Hedrick’s Grove Church Cemetery, with Foster Carney officiating.
Dennis was born on October 8, 1935, in Davidson County, to the late Willie Hoyd and Maggie Yarborough Leonard. He retired from Proctor and Schwartz as a machinist. He loved fishing, hunting, woodworking, finding great yard sales and flea markets, but he especially loved spending time with his family.

| Gregory Lee Cannon April 4, 1959 — October 26, 2025 Lexington |
Gregory Lee Cannon was born on April 4, 1959 in Abilene, Texas to Lester Cannon and Sandra. This is where his father was stationed with the USAF. Shortly after they were transferred to Ramey Air Force Base in Puerto Rico. Later the family moved to Lexington, NC where he graduated from East Davidson High School. He loved his Harley and race cars. He joined the Navy in May 1981 and was a radioman on a submarine. He was stationed in Charleston, SC, Kingsland, GA and Norfolk, VA. In the meantime, he married and had two beautiful daughters. Andrea and Heather. Greg served 20 years in the Navy and retired to Lexington, NC. He worked various jobs before he started driving 18 wheelers. He drove to California and back for many years. He passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025 due to colon cancer and he believes he got cancer from conditions from the first sub, the USS Nathan Hale that he served on.

David Bruce Hartley, 64, of Winston-Salem, passed away Monday, November 17, 2025.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
David was born on October 4, 1961, in Davidson County, to the late Bruce A. Hartley and Ruth Towery Hartley. Upon graduation from Lexington High School, he furthered his education and graduated from UNC-Charlotte.
He worked for most of his life and retired after 30 years of service from the N.C. Department of Public Safety as a Judicial District Manager in District #22 Probation/Parole.

Eddward “Eddie” Albert Varner, 67, of Davidson County, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2025.

Eddie was born on May 27, 1958, in Davidson County, to the late Albert Sheets Varner Jr. and Linda Loretta Shaw Varner. He worked for many years as a truck driver for various companies, eventually retiring from Varner’s Trucking.
He enjoyed the simple things in life, taking it slowly and living through each moment. His favorite way to spend his time was by working on his truck and fixing it up. Giving it new life brought him pride and joy in having given it diligent attention. The quiet peace of simplicity is where he truly found his place.
