Throughout her life, Debbie found joy in keeping up with and checking in on her friends and family. Playing solitaire was a favorite pastime.

She was born on January 12, 1958, in Tanga, Tanzania to Shantiben Patel and the late Govindbhai Patel. She spent her school years in Dar-Es-Salaam and then migrated to USA around 1977. Got married in 1979 and started a new journey with her husband. She was primarily a house maker but also worked hand in hand in managing her husband’s hotel business for more than 20 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed walking in park. She enjoyed cooking many dishes which she would share with family and friends.

A memorial service will take place 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Central Baptist Church 1347 NC Hwy 47, Lexington.

Randall was born on September 11, 1962, in Davidson County, to Jerry Elwood Burkhart and the late Norma Smith Burkhart.

His view of life was evident in the way he loved the simpler things. Fishing brought him not only satisfaction but a peace that could only be found on the water, along with an appreciation for the beauty of God’s creations.

He attended West Davidson High School before pursuing further education at Davidson County Community College. Throughout his life, Erik was admired for his sharp intellect and boundless kindness. Those who knew him best described him as patient, always ready to lend a hand, and exceptionally hardworking.Professionally, Erik dedicated over two decades to the field of technology and communications. He served the public safety community at Coates Communications, where he provided and supported mission-critical radio services. Later, as a self-taught software engineer, Erik concluded his distinguished career at MedCost.

Norman “Buck” Grady Lanning, 93, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 26, 2025, due to complications from a stroke.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Lanning; his son Allen (late Karen); his daughter-in-law, Dusty; grandchildren Ryan (Emily), Kyle (Kyleigh), Cody, Grayson, and Alayna; and his great-grandson, Carter. He is also survived by his step-grandchildren Peyton Ferguson and Nathanael Rouse as well as his step great-grandson Marshall Ferguson. Buck was preceded in death by his parents, Julie and Grady Lanning; his son Terry (Dusty); and his siblings Ralph (Loraine), Doris (Buddy), Gene (Betty), and Loretta Rainey (Bo).
